Ramirez’s car was identified by Inez Erickson, the last victim to be raped by him. From identifying his car, authorities were able to look up Ramirez’s criminal record and broadcast his face on national news networks. The next day, Ramirez was identified and beaten up by an angry mob in East Los Angeles while he was in the process of stealing a car.
